swarmed a Ghostly Force~

~A Fiery Swell

of the Mighty Blackhorse~

~On each their Backs 

Brave Troopers Rode~

~Eyes of Black

a Force be Told~

~In each their Hand

they wield their Sword~

fierce Fire Soared~

~Defeat us Not

that was their Cry~

~The Devil’s Lot

your Souls shall Lie~

~The Blackhorse Hurls

~With each the Kill

imbued them Strength~

~The Killing Field

was long of Length~

~Their Hooves were Steel

the ground was Red~

~Of Blood’s Ordeal

the Enemy’s Dead~

~The Odds Against

One Hundred to One~

~By Battle’s End

the Deed was Done~

~Out of Hell

Do You Feel The Soldier's Plight

~When you lay to sleep a night

do you feel the Soldier’s plight~

~Do you pray to keep him safe

around the world in every place~

~Duty Country Honors Forged

defending all he fights the War~

~Lays down his life and proud to do

for Home and Flag and yes for you~

~Hear my words and hear them well

without the Soldier we’re Doomed to Hell~

We Were Soldiers

Let Us Not Forget

~Now I lay me down to sleep

as I do each night~

~I pray the Lord my soul to keep

unto the coming light~

~If I should die before I wake

within my nightmarish~

I pray the Lord my soul to take

unto his Heaviness~

~Sometimes I feel my life in ruins

my thoughts play hide in seek~

~Headed for the land of doom

all in turning bleak~

~My mood of swing be flying high

upon the tightest rope~

~So many young so many died

so many years ago~

~But for me ‘twas just last night

like every night before~

~An overwhelming Firefight

of blood in wrenching horror~ 

~I dream of death in never end

walking every turn~

~Remembering those of all my friends

whom never did return~

~Of those I killed in self defense

they had families too~

~I pray for their remembrance

in Heaven’s rendezvous~

~When I leave this earth in death

I ask you only this~

~To bury me at Soldiers Rest

in that of reminisce~

~To pray for me of Heaven send

in that I did my best~

~I was a Soldier to the end

unto my final rest~

~”We Were Soldiers” young in old

in the midst of war~

~Of so very long ago

~Dear Lord in Heaven hear my prayer

I fear my death be ever near~

~As I walk the fields this terrible war

my mine is filled with that of horror~

~Painted the ground with human blood

saturated such it’s turned to mud~

~Too many men have met their death 

beneath the ground they lay at rest~

~We now await the enemy come

I pray my death be not succumb~

~My God In Heaven I pray of you

to help me make this battle through~

~I ask my God protect us all

and not allow our Soldiers fall~

~Give us strength to force retreat

and cause the enemy to take defeat~

~And in the end to walk away

to live again another day~

~To end this war and bring on peace

and Hell on earth no longer be~

~Allow us God see home again

 be with family and our friends~

~To know again my Lover’s touch

I’ve missed her Oh so very much~

~My child born thee years ago

to this day I do not know~

~To take her in my arms and say

your Daddy’s home and here to stay~

~To taste of that a home cooked meal

and know again a soft bed’s feel~

~I thank you God for hearing my prayer

and lessening that of which I fear~

From The Depths Of Hell

 

~From the depths of Hell like an Angel above

you rescued my life with that of your love~

~Taking pain from my heart making it whole

healing what ill’d me in that of my soul~

~You lit up my darkness now I can see

taking my blindness giving hope onto me~

~Emotions existing I knew not I had

happiness replacing all that was sad~

~Forward in life my dreams are of you

demising my self I no longer do~

~I know now of love whence I did not

bestowed in my heart of an Angel begot~

~No more cold is my soul but warm as if fire

burning deep down inside is but my desire~

~You’re all in my life you’re all I want of

you’re the pure definition of all that is love~

~I love how you bring me coffee in bed

awaking me gently with a kiss on the head~

~Joining me in shower and making of love

doing something special for me just because~

~And walking the beach while holding your hand

all the time thinking myself so a lucky man~

~My life was a void no reason to be

entered you did giving reason to me~

I love you more than infinity I say

growing even more with each passing day~

~I wanted you to know how much I do care

and to be without you I would not bare~
