The Battle Hymn Of The Republic

Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord
He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored,
He has loosed the fateful lightening of His terrible swift sword
His truth is marching on.

Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
His truth is marching on.

I have seen Him in the watch-fires of a hundred circling camps
They have builded Him an altar in the evening dews and damps
I can read His righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps
His day is marching on.

Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
His truth is marching on.

I have read a fiery gospel writ in burnish`d rows of steel,
"As ye deal with my contemners, So with you my grace shall deal;"
Let the Hero, born of woman, crush the serpent with his heel
Since God is marching on.

Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
His truth is marching on.

He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat
He is sifting out the hearts of men before His judgment-seat
Oh, be swift, my soul, to answer Him! be jubilant, my feet!
Our God is marching on.

Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
His truth is marching on.

In the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea,
With a glory in His bosom that transfigures you and me:
As He died to make men holy, let us die to make men free,
While God is marching on.

Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
His truth is marching on.

Remembering Times

Pham Thi Ty March 13, 1971
         Cu Chi, South Vietnam

I’m a Veteran of the Vietnam War,
you’ve often heard me speak of the Horror!
I’ll tell you of a someone I met in a Village called Cu Chi,
She was young and beautiful and attracted to Me!
We took time to get to know one Another,
and we became more than just Lovers!
I spent every moment with her I had in the Rear,
each time I returned to the Field there were many Tears!
Off and on we had a year with each Other,
we planned a life for us be Together!
I secretly married her at a Buddhist Temple in Cu Chi,
she later became pregnant with a child for Me!
I was excited and afraid at the same Time,
I was spending more time out on the Line!
I loved Ty with all of my Heart,
and we couldn’t stand to be Apart!
I received orders one cold day in Hell,
in my life all was not Well!
The Army was pulling us out of the “Nam”,
and I was going Home!
I did all that I could to bring her Back,
but the proper Documents she Lacked!
Then came without notice that miserable Day,
the Army put us in Duce and a Halves and whisked us Away!
I had made it through the Hell they called Vietnam,
but without Ty I didn’t want to go On!
I’ve never seen my beautiful Love Again,
because of  that the Army I’ve often Condemned!

Our Country's Guardians

Life is fruitful for those who fight,
God shined on them the Guardian’s light!
They fight for you and for me,
the fight so their Country can be free!
Though they’re always in Danger’s path,
threaten their Country and feel their wrath!
They’re the valiant Protectors of our Nation,
and our Country’s very Salvation!
They’re Soldiers watching over us,
our Freedom’s in their trust!
So pray for them before you sleep,
pray that their safety God will keep!
And when they return to their home,
don’t forget them and leave them alone!
Remember the pass and treat them as Brethren,
not as this Country did her Vietnam Veteran!

I Can't Sleep At Night

Lately I've been a bit under the weather,
I wish I’d feel better!
It’s not what you call a normal sickness,
but it causes me great distress,
and much loneliness!
I have what’s called PTSD,
and it causes Hell on earth for me!
I really have to try to walk the line,
if I don’t I’m afraid I’ll loose my mind!
I’m so tired but I can’t sleep,
sometimes I stay awake and just weep!
I haven’t always been this way,
there was a time I was happy every day!
I’m a Veteran of the Vietnam era,
and I’ve seen too much terror!
It causes me to dream horrifically,
and I can’t stay asleep consequently!
They’ll invent a pill one day,
that’ll take this thing away!
But for now I’ll walk that line,
as I’ve done for such a long time!

Diagnostic symptoms for PTSD include re-experiencing the original trauma(s) through flashbacks or nightmares, avoidance of stimuli associated with the trauma, and increased arousal – such as difficulty falling or staying asleep, anger, and hypervigilance. Formal diagnostic criteria (both DSM-IV-TR and ICD-9) require that the symptoms last more than one month and cause significant impairment in social, occupational, or other important areas of functioning.

My Biography

We Lived It

Short Story

When I was just a young boy: I dreamed of 1 day, becoming a Soldier! When I was 17 years old; my Birthday, I joined The Army and fulfilled my Dreams.
Never: Could I imagine the Hell; I would go through, But it was still the Proudest part of my Life and, I wouldn’t change it if I could!
Not everybody can say: I served My Country with Pride ! ! !
Viet Nam was the Hell I mentioned. I really did and to this date; believe in what we were Fighting for! I think it was wrong; to walk out on, the South Vietnamese people and leave them to the North, to commit what ever Evil to them they wished!
The people back home; never did, understand what we were trying to accomplish over there. They did everything in their power to make us look bad!
If only the had stayed out of it,  we would have WON that War and the World would be Better off for it!
Instead; when we came Home; they spit on us and, called us names!
That is No way to Treat this Country’s War Veterans, who were Fighting for Freedom and Democracy!
Many Died in that War, Many Never came Home!
HUG a Veteran Today, We’ll Appreciate it!

An Angel From Heaven

I was wild.
 When I was a child.
 As I became older.
 And became bolder.
 From my family-I took flight.
Joined the Military-so I could fight.
 Soon I would find.
 The Nam hurt my mind.
 I lead a lonely life.
 Can’t even keep a wife.
But my life has turned around.
 Because I have found.
 An Angel from Heaven.
 Many times seven.
 Quelli’s her name.
 She will never throw blame.
 She’s smart and whitty.
 And quite pretty.
A woman for Mom to meet.
 Her demeanor cannot be beat.
 She honors all Vets.
 And you can bet.
 When you are sadness bound.
 She’ll turn that frown.
 Upside down.
 From day to day.
 Never anything bad to say.
 All Vets love her.
 Of this-you can be sure.
 If need her you do.
 She will fight for you.
So if you’ve been to War.
 And your mind is soar.
 KNOW in your belly.
 There will always be Quelli.
An Angel from Heaven.
Many times seven.

Quelli

A guardian angel is she.
A veterans advocate named Quelli.
Her call sign is AmericanGirl8.
She’ll help you through life’s gate.
She’ll comfort you.
And say to you.
It’s alright.
Have no more fright
Sometimes life throws you for a loop.
With Queli’s help, you will recoop.
You can never go wrong.
When Quelli sings her song.
Singing: no more be sad.
You are not bad.
To America, you were true.
My sweet friend, I will always love you.
Already, she has wings.
With the Angels she sings.
God’s Soldier is she.
Her love is free!
